A15-year-old girl who attempted to jump from the third floor of the Ayala Center Cebu at past 11 a.m. yesterday was rescued by the mall’s safety officers.

In a 16-second video uploaded by a certain The Morefield on YouTube, a video sharing site, the girl who was wearing a t-shirt and shorts, was seen walking on the edge of one of the steel railings on the third floor of the mall, causing panic among the mallgoers.

Luckily, one of the safety officers was able to rescue the girl.

Lawyer Jeanette Japzon, Cebu Holdings Inc. corporate communications manager, named the safety officers as Dommar Guera, Grace Cambo, Edmar Bulawin, Edwin Jimenez.

In a text message to Cebu Daily News, Japzon said it was Guera who was quick to grab the girl and pinned her down on the floor. Then two other safety officers came to help subdue the girl.

On the first few seconds of the video, Guera approached the girl and immediately grabbed her despite the latter’s resistance.

Japzon told CDN that they are withholding the name of the victim since she is a minor. She said they are not in the position to disclose further information about the incident, and as to why she attempted to jump.

The girl was brought inside the mall’s medics office  where she was attended to.

The mall management also gave her lunch as she waited for her guardian to fetch her.
