FIVE malls in Cebu were identified by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) as possible voting precincts for the May 9 election.

These malls include SM City Cebu in Barangay Mabolo, Gaisano Metro Colon, Robinsons Cybergate in Barangay Santa Cruz, Robinsons Fuente in Barangay Capitol Site and Ayala Center Cebu in Barangay Luz.

During Tuesday morning’s 888 News Forum, regional Comelec director Nick Jose Mendros said voters living in barangays near the five identified malls in Cebu province will enjoy the airconditioned comfort of voting inside the malls.

“These malls met the space requirement of at least 63 square meters wide,” he said.

But Mendros said they have yet to determine the specific number of clustered precincts that can be accommodated by these malls.

“We are still waiting for the list from the central office,” he said.
