A 32-year-old detainee was killed after he threatened the life of a fellow inmate inside the San Francisco detention cell in Camotes Islands last Monday.

Jhovan Mark Tubo of Surigao City, according to the police, ran amok and tried to kill his fellow inmate Arquillano Maningo, 39, nephew of a mayoral candidate in San Francisco town.

Tubo allegedly punched and kicked Maningo, who was sleeping on the floor. He also tried to stab Maningo with a pointed aluminum handle, which resulted to a scuffle. Policemen tried to pacify Tubo but to no avail, prompting PO3 Proceso Cabig to shoot the suspect. Tubo was rushed to Ricardo Maningo Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
