Toledo TKD tops poomsae event in New Face tilt

THE TOLEDO Taekwondo Team finished as overall champions in poomsae in the Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA) Regional New Face Tournament last Monday at the Robinsons Galleria Cebu.

The Toledo team of coach Giovanni Genovesa finished with nine golds, eight silvers, and three bronze medals to rule the poomsae event over some of Cebu City’s top taekwondo clubs.

Landing in second place is coach Glenn Lava’s STAR Taekwondo, which finished with nine golds, seven silvers, and two bronze medals.

Meanwhile, the Avenger Taekwondo Club of coach Avengyr Alob settled for third place with a 8-7-7 (gold-silver-bronze) haul.

PTA’s Regional New Face tournament aims to discover new talents from the region and is participated by mostly first timers who are products of their summer programs.
