WBO International featherweight champion Mark “Magnifico” Magsayo of the famed ALA Boxing Gym will further sharpen his boxing skills at the renowned Wild Card Gym of Freddie Roach.

The 20-year-old unbeaten Boholano (14-0-0, 10KOs) arrived in Los Angeles, California early this week. He beat American Chris “Hitman” Avalos via sixth-round technical knockout last April 23 at the Cebu City Sports Center and is expected to become more dangerous with his stint in Roach’s gym alongside WBO No. 1 lightweight Jason “El Niño” Pagara.

Magsayo is set to fight on July 9 at the San Mateo Events Center in San Mateo, California in the undercard of “Prince” Albert Pagara’s duel against Mexican Cesar Juarez (17-5, 13KOs).

According to trainer Edmund Villamor, they will train for more than a month in Los Angeles. He clarified that Jason Pagara is not included in the July 9 card but was sent to the US by ALA Promotions International chief, Michael Aldeguer, to train and familiarize with American and Latino boxers.

The 27-year-old Pagara (38-2, 23KOs), defeated Mexican Miguel “Mikol” Zamudio (35-9-1, 21KOs) by unanimous decision after 10 rounds in the undercard of the Nonito Donaire Jr.-Zolt Bedak WBO Super bantamweight title fight last April 23 at the CCSC.

The younger Pagara (26-0, 18KOs), meanwhile, arrived earlier in L.A. The 22-year-old reigning WBO Intercontinental and IBF Intercontinental super bantamweight champion was accompanied by former world title-challenger-turned trainer Michael Domingo.

Pagara is currently training at the Wild Card Gym where he was seen with Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC) lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos of Brazil.
