A PAWNSHOP in Barangay Maribago, Lapu-Lapu City was robbed by three motorcycle-riding suspects at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Janet Layos, manager of the Cebuana Lhuillier pawnshop, the armed robbers barged in just as they were opening the outlet and took a still undetermined amount of cash.

Two of the three men barged in while the other one, the motorcycle driver, served as lookout.

Layos said she alerted their central office in Manila through their alert button. Their central office then called for assistance from the police.

The security guard said he also noticed a white Toyota Fortuner sports utility vehicle without a plate number in the area pulled out after the three robbers boarded the motorcycle and left.

The Fortuner vehicle was later intercepted at barangay Pusok at 8 a.m.

Chief Insp. Conrado Manatad, Mactan police precinct chief, said they interrogated the driver but were unable to get any relevant information from him.

Manatad added they had to release the driver as they can’t establish a strong link involving him to the heist.
