Maasin City’s hard-hitting “Prince” Albert Pagara takes on Mexican former world title contender Cesar Juarez in the main event of Pinoy Pride 37: Fists of the Future today in San Mateo, California USA.

The unbeaten Pagara (26-0,18Kos) will defend his title against Juarez (17-5,13Kos), who put up a gallant stand against five-division world champion Nonito Donaire Jr. last year for the WBO world Super Bantamweight title in Puerto Rico.

In yesterday’s official weigh-in for their 12-round showdown at the Serramonte Mall in Daly City, California, both Pagara and Juarez tipped the scales at 121.2 pounds.

At stake is not just Pagara’s unbeaten record and the WBO Intercontinental Super Bantamweight title, but his future and his current rank as the number two best fighter in his division.

In the final press conference last Thursday, Juarez described Pagara as a good fighter but does not have enough experience.

Pagara on the other hand, was very confident that he’ll emerge victorious.

In the co-main event, Pagara’s older brother Jason 38-2,23KOs) weighed in at 146lbs, while his opponent Abraham Alvarez (21-9-1,10KOs) stepped in at 147lbs.

Jason Pagara, who is the number one lightweight contender, will fight Alvarez in a 10-round non-title match.
