About 100 self-confessed drug users and peddlers coming from Mandaue City’s 28 barangays helped clean the vicinity of the Cebu International Convention Center (CICC) on Tuesday afternoon as part of their rehabilitation program.

On Thursday, the group will also be made to join a zumba scheduled at the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) grounds in Barangay Center for their exercise.

“Weekly na ni pagabuhaton,” said PO2 Jim Patoc of the Police Station 4 who supervised the Tuesday afternoon clean-up.

Clean-up started about 3 p.m. and lasted for two hours.

About 100 self-confessed drug users and peddlers helped pick garbage in the area now occupied by families left homeless by a fire which hit the neighboring Barangays of Mantuyong and Guizo in March.

The cleaners were part of the close to 200 people who earlier appeared at MCPO to commit that they would already cease from using and peddling illegal drugs.
