CEBU City Mayor Tomas Osmeña has brought in the former Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC) chief, Dr. Gloria Duterte, to become again the city hospital’s new chief under the new administration.

Duterte was the CCMC chief before former Cebu City mayor Michael Rama replaced her during his second term as Cebu City mayor.

Cebu City Councilor Mary Ann delos Santos said that she recommended Duterte to Cebu City Mayor Osmeña for the position.

“It’s very hard to do housekeeping in CCMC if you put somebody there who is not very familiar with the terrain of CCMC. So I need her input. She knows a lot about CCMC,” Delos Santos said.

Delos Santos, who is the Deputy Mayor for Health, said that during the time when CCMC was in the state of controversy, Duterte was there and handled the issue very well.

“She can be there to guide me, and the rest of my colleagues, to things we have to do with CCMC,” she said.

Duterte, who replaced Dr. Anton Reposar, assumed office last July 11 while Reposar is still at CCMC and the assistant chief for medical.
