DEFENDING champions Convergys Converters and last year’s losing finalists Teleperformance All-Stars chalked up contrasting victories last Sunday in the Elite Classic division of the 12th City Sports Club-Cebu Gym (CSC-C) E-League for Basketball at the CSC-C Gym.

Showcasing a brilliant game from start to finish, the Converters pulled off a 96-62 manhandling of the SSW Warriors, while the All-Stars walked the tightrope before beating the Telstra Boomerangs, 81-79.

With the separate wins, Convergys and Teleperformance remained at joint first spot with similar 3-0 (win-loss) records.

Kenneth Dysam led the way for the Converters with 23 points, while Angelo Lucero, Aldene Jay Batino and Sherwin Emmanuelle Resilla pitched in 15, 13 and 11 markers, respectively.

Lawrence Agas fired 28 points, Alexander Neri came up with 20 markers in losing efforts as the Warriors slumped to 0-3.

Ryan Veloso, on the other hand, scattered 22 points, Marcos Jungoy III scored 13 and Karlo Miñoza added 12 for the All-Stars, who survived the Boomerangs’ 27-12 fourth quarter attack that nearly allowed them come back from double-digit deficits.

Jetro Gonzaga produced 21 points, John Anthony Ares donated 17 and Jasper Christian Diaz added 10 in Telstra’s second loss in four matches.
