FOUR squads will be battling for supremacy in the 9th edition of Emil’s Fiesta Cup Basketball Championships slated July 30 to August 4 at the Minglanilla Sports Complex.

Leading the competing teams is defending champion Samsam Gullas, which will be spearheaded by former PBA players Reed Juntilla and Eloy Poligrates.

Out to challenge Samsam Gullas is last year’s losing finalist Abrenica Engineering of Felix Abrenica, SG-ARQ Builders of Jason Alquizola and Aspa Scaffoldings of Arnold Quilaton.

The four competing teams will play in a single round format in the first round. The top two teams will enjoy twice-to-beat advantages in the semifinals where the no. 1 team will face no. 4 and the no. 2 squad will take on and no. 3 seed.

Semifinal winners will fight for the crown in a winner-take-all affair.

Champion team will pocket the P120,000 top purse, while P55,000 cash awaits the losing finalist. Third placer will P30,000.
