AboitizLand, with the support of the Aboitiz Foundation, recently turned over an AGAPP Silid-Pangarap building to Ernesto Veloso Elementary School in Barangay Cabadiangan, Liloan, northern Cebu.

Aklat, Gabay at Aruga Tungo sa Pag-angat at Pag-asa (AGAPP) is a foundation that collaborates with institutions in providing literacy and early childhood and care development programs.

AGAPP provides the design and the training for teachers while the AboitizLand and Aboitiz Foundation fund the construction cost.

Aside from providing a physical structure where kindergarten classes may be held, AGAPP also partners with National Bookstore and Uratex to furnish the classrooms with child-friendly furniture and books.

The Liloan project is the eighth AGAPP school building constructed by AboitizLand in Cebu.

Liloan Mayor Christina Frasco and Vice Mayor Duke Frasco accepted the donation from AboitizLand chief operating officer Patrick Reyes and Aboitiz Foundation executive vice president and chief operating officer Augusto Carpio III.

Also in attendance were Ernesto Veloso Elementary School principal Dalmacio Maglasang, Department of Education district supervisor Glicerio Camongay, Cabadiangan Barangay Councilor Giovanni Cabatingan, AboitizLand and Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. officers, faculty and staff of the school and parents.

Carpio underscored the commitment of the Aboitiz Group of Companies to the improvement of education in the country.

Reyes, meanwhile, advised to use the building to send the positive message on the importance of education and its value to future generations.

Mayor Frasco articulated the local government unit’s support to education, saying, “Seeing a facility like this for early childhood development warms my heart.”

AboitizLand and the Aboitiz Foundation Inc. have pursued projects towards the upliftment of the quality of classroom instruction, particularly in the early-childhood and elementary schools. AboitizLand has sustained volunteer programs enhancing students’ capability to assimilate regular classroom lessons by conducting out-of-the-box learning experiences for students aside from supporting the Alternative Learning System of the DepEd in certain barangays in Metro Cebu.

An affiliate of Aboitiz Equity Ventures, AboitizLand developed nurturing, assuring and enduring residential, commercial and industrial communities.

Through these successful projects, the company has grown its partner and client base to over 3000 vecinos, about 50 merchant-establishments and more than 100 corporate entities, breathing life into its brand promise of providing the ultimate real estate experience.
