Cabusas-Santos duo finishes last

CEBUANA bowler Xyrra Cabusas and her partner Rjoy Daval-Santos found themselves mired at the bottom of the rankings at the conclusion of the women’s doubles event of the ongoing 14th World Youth Bowling Championships yesterday in Nebraska, USA.

Cabusas and Santos settled for 37th spot after the six-game series with 1,983 pinfalls.

Cabusas scored 1,058 pinfalls while Daval-Santos chipped in 925. The pair’s best games were in the third and fourth games after they scored 374 and 352 pin falls respectively.

The other Filipino pair who competed in the event were Bea Hernandez and Rica Macatula, who finished 30th spot with 2,144.

The women’s doubles was dominated by South Korea’s Lee Yeongseung and Yuna Pak, who toppled 2,694 pins. USA’s Jordan Richard and Stephanie Schwartz settled for second place with 2,547 while the American duo of Gazmine Mason and Julia Bond wound up third with 2,459.

Cabusas and fellow Cebuano bet, GJ Buyco, are set to compete in the four-man team competition, which will start tomorrow.
