A criminal case was already filed against PO3 Renato Inot and his cousin, Adelcos Alonzo for beating a truck driver and for pointing a gun at a supervisor of a private company last week.

Senior Supt. Roberto Alanas, director of Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO), said they filed complaints for grave threats and physical injuries against Inot, while complaints of grave threats, physical injuries and illegal possession of firearms against Alonzo at the City Prosecutor’s Office of the Mandaue City Hall of Justice on Wednesday afternoon.

The inquest proceeding was conducted by Assistant City Prosecutor Mary Francis Daquipil.

“PO3 Inot is under camp restriction but if he needs to go home for personal necessities, he can do it but we strictly monitor him, while his cousin, who is a civilian, was just awaiting for the resolution of the prosecutor,” said Alanas.

Since the police officer surrendered and was not arrested, Alanas said Inot can still go home, but he must report to the office every day. He said Inot and Alonzo will file a counter affidavit.

Inot was caught in a video posted on Facebook beating Crispen Ricarte, the truck driver of Triple L Comprehensive Aircon and Refrigeration Services on A.C. Cortes Avenue. The police officer, who was then driving a motocycle, allegedly got mad at Ricarte for not alllowing him to overtake everytime he made an attempt.

The video also showed Alonzo pointing a gun at Ricarte’s companion Leonardo Orcullo, the supervisor of Triple L Comprehensive. It was later found out that the 9mm Glock used by Alonzo was owned by Inot.

The incident happened in the afternoon of August 26 that caught the attention of bystanders.

PO3 Renato Inot was among the 180 police and non-uniformed personnel who were made to undergo the surprise drug testing conducted at MCPO yesterday morning. The results of the drug test will likely be known today.
