WINNERS Participants Learn News Business Concepts

Participants of this year’s Women In Need, Now Entrepreneurs, and Role Models (WINNERs) underwent seminars on various business concepts to guide them in their journey in the said competition.

Now in its 6th year, WINNERs gathered the top 20 participants from the previous seasons and aims to be bigger and better.

In an interview, Alice Sim-Uy, WINNERs event chairperson, said that this activity would help in development of the entrepreneurial skills of the participants.

“Through these seminars, we hope that they will equipped when it is time for them to face the real world,” said Uy.

“We want to focus on women in Mandaue because we want them to improve their livelihood,” she added.

Some of the subjects tackled during the talk were business concepts such as sales and marketing, work and life balance, inventory management, as well as things that could help them in their business such as work and life balance and domestic violence

This year’s celebration of Mandaue Business Month has gathered all the previous participants in Women In Need, Now Entrepreneurs, and Role Models (WINNERs)

Some of the participants this year include fish vendors and sari-sari store owners.

The participants will undergo a business planning seminar in the morning of August 24 to prepare them for their presentation in the afternoon on the same day. They will be interviewed and this year’s top 20 will be chosen.

While they were waiting, pocket seminars will also be conducted to maximize the time.

Their proposals will be showcased from September 5 to 7 at Jcentre Mall Atrium.

In September 7, they will be presenting their business proposals to the public at JCentre Mall Convention Center. Unlike before, no pageants will happen this year.

The grand prize winner this year will be receiving money that she can use as capital for her business. Some of the benefactors include Vice Governor Agnes Magpale and Sky Cable.

WINNERs is part of the month long celebration of Mandaue Business Month.
