A suspected drug pusher died in a shootout with police at purok Star Apple in Barangay Umapad, Mandaue City at past 4 am Wednesday.

Raymund Bulanon, a 24-year-old Umapad resident, died at the Mandaue City Hospital.

Senior Insp. Genilo Veraque, Opao police precinct chief, said Bulanon surrendered to them last week after being convinced by his family to do so.

Veraque said Bulanon returned to selling illegal drugs and police were supposed to serve a search warrant released last Sept. 23 to Bulanon at his home.

Bulanon fired shots and police retaliated, shooting him thrice. Taken from the crime scene were one loaded .38 revolver and four small sachets of shabu.
