For more than five hundred years, Jesuit education has been at the forefront of innovation rooted in tradition. The key thrusts of excellence, leadership and service are shared by Jesuit schools not just in the Philippines but the rest of the world. As a response to the Philippines’ goal of training competent graduates through the K-12 Program, Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu stepped into a new frontier by opening the Senior High School in June 2016.

Last year, on the Feast of San Isidro Labrador (May 15, 2015), Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu had the groundbreaking ceremonies of the Eduardo J. Aboitiz Senior High School Building. The building takes its name from a man who dedicated his life to helping others, improving the community, and leaving a legacy of dedication, generosity, leadership, and integrity. It was made possible through the generous donation of Mr. Roberto Aboitiz and family and the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation.

Designed and constructed by Primary Structures, headed by alumni brothers Engr. Wally and Architect Steve Liu, the building includes six floors, more than 20 classrooms, several audio-visual rooms, science laboratories, offices, the Lily Gokongwei Ngochua Library and the Pope Francis Servant Leadership Hall. The building is meant for the use of the Senior High School unit of the school. /PR
