Drug suspect killed in Danao shootout

A drug suspect was killed during a police shootout while a barangay councilor and two drug users were arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by the operatives of Danao Police Station at Taboc Poblacion in Danao City at 1:50 p.m., Tuesday (Nov. 8.)

According to Police Regional Office information officer Chief Insp. Dexter Calacar, Reynaldo Mansueto, the subject of the buy-bust operation, was killed when he engaged the responding cops in a shootout at his supposed drug den.

His cohort Gilbert Galo was collared at the same place.

Recovered from their possession were one medium pack and eight small sachets of white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, a caliber .45 pistol, P200 buy-bust money and P470 believed to be proceeds of their drug trade.

Caught having a pot session in the same area were Jhon Jhon Arnado, a councilor of Barangay Ibabao in Sogod town, and Jundril Belonguil, also from Sogod town.

The suspects are now detained at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in Baranggay in Danao City pending the filing of charges.
