Man accused of raping five-year-old girl in Bantayan
A man was collared by the police after he allegedly molested a five-year-old girl at Sitio Biactus, Barangay Pooc, Santa Fe town in Bantayan Island past 3 p.m. today.
Police immediately launched a hot pursuit operation against Raymundo Valladares, 45, after the mother of the girl rushed to the police station to report the incident.
According to SPO2 Sheila Illustrisimo of the Bantayan Municipal Police Office’s Women and Children’s Protection Desk, the girl was playing outside their house with her neighbors when the incident happened.
“Things happened so fast. It has only been thirty minutes since the girl left their house to play outside. The suspect talked the girl into coming with him,” Illustrisimo said in a phone interview.
He said their investigation showed that Valladares took the girl inside his house. Later, the girl told her mother that the suspect touched her and thrusted his finger into her genitals.
When the girl rushed to her mother, the girl’s underwear was already splotched with blood.
Valladares was reportedly drunk when he allegedly committed the act. He is now detained at the Bantayan police precinct pending the filing of charges against him, said Illustrisimo.
