PFL finals tonight
Global Cebu FC will battle it out against rival Ceres Negros FC in the first finals of the Philippines Football League (PFL) today at the Panaad Park and Football Stadium in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.
During the semifinals, Global Cebu FC took down the top-ranked FC Meralco Manila with a 3-2 aggregate score while Ceres Negros FC got rid of Kaya FC Makati with a 3-1 aggregate.
The fourth-placed Global Cebu drew 13 wins, 8 draws and 7 losses all throughout the season plotting 47 goals score and 37 goals conceded whereas the second-placed Ceres was able to frame 76 goals scored and 27 goals conceded from their 17 wins, 6 draws and 5 losses.
Despite the effort of Global Cebu FC’s management to bring the match to the Cebu City Sports Complex (CCSC), the PFL board had the final say and decided to hold the football event at Panaad Stadium in accordance to the PFL Tournament Regulations.
Global Cebu assured that it is ready to play wherever as it abides with the PFL board’s decision.
Omid Nazari of Ceres Negros FC expressed his readiness to play against his former club.
Last year, Nazari was able to help Global Cebu FC in the finals of the United Football League (UFL).
“I feel ready now,” he said. “The team feels ready so it is going to be fun.”
The kickoff of the inaugural final is at 6 p.m.
