AFTER a breakup, life goes on.
This is what Star Music artist Brian Gazmen’s first single, “Ayoko Nang Makarinig Ng Love Song” composed by director Joven Tan is all about.
“The song is all about sa mga millennial ngayon. Siyempre sa break up parang feeling nila end of the world na tapos i-iyak sila nang todo. Feeling nila na wala ng iba. Well, eto pang motivate sa kanila,” Gazmen told Cebu Entertainment Press last Friday during a press conference.
The 17-year-old singer was in Cebu City last Friday for a radio tour to promote his single.
Gazmen is one of the newest singers who signed with Star Music last January.
He said he suggested an upbeat song to Tan for his first single to uplift the mood of the listeners.
“May great effect ang music sa mood ng tao. Pag sentimental, mas i-iyak ang tao,” he added.
Although he is not in a relationship now and has not experienced a breakup, Gazmen said he was still able to give life to the song based on his friends’ experiences.
A native of Bicol, Gazmen is a Grade 12 student from Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU).
He is the youngest of three children of Iriga City Mayor Madelaine Alfelor-Gazmen.
But unlike other political offspring, he has no plans of joining politics but will instead pursue a showbiz career.
“It’s not my thing (politics). I love both acting and singing,” he said.
Before he signed with Star Music, Gazmen did theater with Ateneo Theater and Trumpets.
In fact, he has been part of musicals such as “Hairspray” and “Les Miserables.”
He also appeared in eight episodes of ABS-CBN’s primetime series, “La Luna Sangre”
portraying the son of Joey Marquez, who played the role of Sen. Rodolfo Mallaro.
He was also part of an episode titled “Gatilyo Gang” for the afternoon series, “Ipaglaban Mo.”
On the big screen, Gazmen acted in the 2017 films “Seven Sundays” and “Love You To The Stars and Back.”
He will soon be working on an indie film opposite Kapuso actress Kylie Alcantara.
He is also set to release his album this year.
