The Miami Heat are headed to the NBA Finals after they defeated the Boston Celtics, 103-84, in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals played at the TD Garden in Boston.

Jimmy Butler had 28 points to lead Miami, which won the first three games of the series but struggled to close it out.

Ex-PBA player Poligrates injured in Duljo shooting

A former player of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) got injured in a shooting incident in Barangay Duljo Fatima here on Tuesday, May 30, 2023.

Eliud Poligrates sustained a gunshot wound on the upper portion of his left shoulder.

The shooting reportedly happened around 3 a.m. on Tuesday in Sitio Micabaja, Barangay Duljo Fatima in Cebu City.

Night classes will soon be a thing of the past in Mandaue

Night classes may soon be a thing of the past in public schools in Mandaue City.

This as the city government is trying to provide schools with additional areas for more classrooms.

Mayor Jonas Cortes said that the city is gradually purchasing land that could be used by schools to expand or build more classrooms.

Typhoon Betty out of PAR by Thursday or Friday, ‘habagat’ to trigger rain — Pagasa

Typhoon Betty (international name: Mawar) is expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) by Thursday or Friday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Tuesday afternoon.

Until then, Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2 remains hoisted over Batanes, while TCWS No. 1 is up over Apayao, Cagayan, and Babuyan Islands, the northern and eastern parts of Isabela, eastern portion of  Ilocos Norte, northern portion of Kalinga, and the northeastern portion of Abra.
