Bohol reports 1.4M tourist arrivals in 2025
MANDAUE CITY, Cebu – At least 1.4 million tourists visited the province of Bohol in 2025, marking a four percent growth in comparison with the previous year.
Moreover, its foreign market posted a 14 percent growth last year, which is Bohol’s “highest growth” so far while “highlighting a more diverse international market.”
The provincial government said that majority of the province’s visitors or around 58 percent were local tourists. The remaining 42 percent consist of foreign visitors coming from South Korea, China, United States of America, Taiwan, France, Spain, Australia, and Russia.

Joanne Pinat, officer-in-charge of the Bohol Provincial Tourism Office (BPTO), shared the news after Monday’s flag raising ceremony at the New Bohol Provincial Capitol grounds.
“The province’s global presence was strengthened through participation in international tourism fairs and its recognition as a UNESCO Global Geopark, boosting visibility as a premium and sustainable destination,” the provincial government said in its advisory.

Increased tourist visits
Bohol is expected to further grow its foreign tourist visits with the opening of chartered flights from Japan in May 2026 “targeting high-value markets.”
The provincial government credits the increased tourists visits to the recognition that Bohol received as the “Best Tourism Destination Province in the Philippines” as they also take pride of the Chocolate Hills Complex in Carmen town that continues to be a top tourist site together with the with white sand Quinale Beach in Anda.
Having the two destinations also helps “disperse tourism beyond Panglao Island,” it added.
Just recently, the provincial government also reopened Virgin Island in Panglao, one of the top destinations in the province.
Strong complaince
The provincial government also reported an rise in number of tourism establishments to 1,034 with an increase in accreditation level by 20 to 25 percent “reflecting stronger compliance with quality standards.”

“The Provincial Sustainable Tourism Code of Bohol now guides sustainable tourism governance and prepares the province for UNESCO Global Geopark revalidation.”
“Bohol continues to lead as a model of sustainable and inclusive tourism, balancing growth, culture, and community benefits, aligned with the Strategic Change Roadmap of the Provincial Government of Bohol under Governor Aris Aumentado, toward a smart, resilient, inclusive, and sustainable province,” it added.
