A virtual reality sports experience is now available at the North Wing Atrium of SM City Cebu, introducing a new way for visitors to engage in racket-based gameplay through immersive technology.
It’s where sports meets cutting-edge extended reality, creating an experience that feels both physical and futuristic.
Called the XP Arena, the installation places participants inside a digital environment where movements are translated into real-time gameplay. Using VR headsets and motion-based controllers, players can take part in simulated matches involving sports such as tennis, badminton, and pickleball without the need for a physical court.

The experience combines physical activity with digital interaction, requiring players to swing, react, and move as they would in traditional sports while navigating a virtual setting. Game scenarios are designed to test coordination, speed, and precision, offering both casual and competitive play formats.

The XP Arena is part of SM’s Active Hub initiative, which introduces activity-based installations within mall environments to encourage movement and participation. The concept integrates sports, fitness, and recreation into accessible public spaces, allowing visitors to engage in active experiences during regular mall visits.

The activation builds on a series of activity-driven experiences introduced by SM Supermalls in Cebu, reflecting a continued shift toward interactive and lifestyle-focused spaces within mall environments.

Open to the public until May 31, the installation presents a limited-time opportunity for visitors to explore an alternative approach to sports and play through extended reality technology.
