Talisay shooting: Police investigate possible drug-related motive
CEBU CITY, Philippines — The killing of a 39-year-old man whose body was found along the shoreline of Barangay Tangke in Talisay City early Wednesday morning may be drug-related, police said.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Homobuno Sayon, officer-in-charge of the Talisay City Police Station, said investigators are pursuing a possible drug angle after learning that the victim had reportedly communicated with a known drug personality hours before his death.
The victim, identified as Julius Cabradilla, 39, was found dead along the shoreline of Sitio Rattan in Barangay Tangke. Police said they received a report about the discovery of the body at around 5:20 a.m. on Wednesday.

Cabradilla was identified by his common-law partner through the clothes he was wearing. She told police that she last saw him on Tuesday night before he left their house.
Prior drug case
According to Sayon, investigators have gathered information indicating that Cabradilla had previously been arrested for a drug-related offense in 2009. He was reportedly released from jail in 2011 and later secured employment.

Police are also verifying information suggesting that the victim may have resumed involvement in illegal drug activities in recent months.
“Murag something sa mga nanganlabay nga mga adlaw, buwan, posible nga nibalik,” Sayon said.
(it was possible that he again involved himself in illegal drugs in the past days.)
Sayson said investigators learned that Cabradilla had spoken with an individual known to authorities for alleged involvement in illegal drug activities on the night before he was killed.
Person of interest being monitored
Sayon said investigators have already identified several persons of interest (POIs) in the case.
While he declined to disclose the exact number of individuals being investigated, he said the list includes people who were with Cabradilla in the days leading up to the incident, as well as the person with whom he allegedly communicated on the night before his death.
Police investigators have also been deployed to Barangay Tangke and nearby areas to gather additional information and identify those responsible for the killing.
