UC Webmasters add former UV HS standout Cambarijan to men’s team
CEBU CITY, Philippines — The University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters have strengthened their roster ahead of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) Season 26 men’s basketball tournament with the addition of former high school scoring standout Roderick Cambarijan.
The UC Webmasters, who have made four straight finals appearances in the CESAFI men’s division, secured the services of the former University of the Visayas (UV) Baby Lancers standout.

The move was confirmed by UC head coach Kern Sesante during the launch of the University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue (UCLM) Webmasters men’s basketball team on June 1.
“He committed with us last year. One of the reasons he committed is because of his childhood friends from his hometown in Toledo City who are already part of our team. We also have a lot of players from Toledo, so he is more comfortable playing with them,” said Sesante.
“He is very familiar with their style of play and now he is also familiar with our system.”
In high school, Cambarijan was the leading scorer of the UV Baby Lancers during his stint with the program. He capped off his high school career by earning a spot in the Mythical Five selection.
He also represented Central Visayas in the Palarong Pambansa during his final year, and earlier this year suited up for the Magis Eagles-Cebu Landmasters in the NBTC National Finals.

Among his notable CESAFI high school performances was a 28-point, 10-rebound double-double in a dominant win over the Cebu Eastern College (CEC) Dragons.
During the Game 1 of the Season 23 high school finals, he delivered 23 points against Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles, including 17 points in the second half to help seal the victory.
