Mynimo.com‘s Happy Jobs Fair returned to Cebu on May 30, 2026 at the IEC Convention Center in Mabolo, Cebu City, marking its post pandemic run. Organized by Mynimo.com, the event brought together job seekers and recruiters from companies across BPO, manufacturing, retail, and information technology for a day of direct interviews and on-the-spot hiring.
I see this as employers placing importance on face-to-face interactions. It shows that they value personal engagement rather than relying solely on online processes.

The six-year gap since the last edition made this year’s event both a comeback and a reset for one of Cebu’s more recognized employment fairs.
The human element in hiring
As an online job platform, Mynimo has built its services around digital recruitment. However, the strong turnout and success of Happy Job Fair 2026 highlighted that employers continue to value face-to-face engagement as an essential part of the hiring process.
“We are first and foremost a job website, and we cater to job applications online. But it is our clients who continue to push for the return of the Happy Job Fair,” said Cheska Gail Eñego, General Manager of Mynimo. “I see this as employers placing importance on face-to-face interactions. It shows that they value personal engagement rather than relying solely on online processes.”
Throughout the day, job seekers filled the IEC Convention Center, moving from booth to booth with résumés in hand and engaging directly with recruiters. The event produced immediate results, with several applicants receiving job offers on the spot. Organizers confirmed at least five on-the-spot hires at the venue.
Among them was Vincenzo Paglia, one of the event’s earliest successful applicants. For Paglia, the experience surpassed his expectations. “I am the fifth hire on the spot in the job fair,” he said.
Although attending a job fair in Cebu for the first time made him nervous, Paglia said the welcoming nature of the recruiters helped ease his anxiety and made the process more comfortable.
“My experience here is that it’s cool, but I was very nervous because it was my first time in Cebu, and then I got hired on the spot,” he shared. “What I like about the employers here is that they are very approachable. My interview experience was very smooth.”
His experience echoed what organizers identified as one of the key advantages of in-person hiring events. While online platforms provide convenience and accessibility, direct conversations allow employers and applicants to better assess compatibility, build rapport, and gain a clearer understanding of opportunities before making a commitment. This human connection, organizers said, remains a valuable element of the recruitment process despite the continued growth of digital hiring platforms.
What Mynimo wants the fair to become
Cheska also elaborated that the team is treating this year’s event as a foundation for improving future editions rather than a one-time comeback.
“Our goal really is to help everybody find happy careers. And of course, if we fulfil that, we will also be able to fulfil the hiring needs of the companies,” Eñego said.
She added that the wider impact of successful job placements extends beyond individual hires. “”When we fulfill the hiring needs of the companies, we help them build happy teams. And happy teams create happy companies that will lead the growth in Cebu in terms of business and employment,”
For Cebu, which has continued to grow as one of the country’s leading business hubs, employment events that create direct connections between talent and companies remain a practical part of that growth.
The Happy Jobs Fair’s return adds to a calendar of initiatives that keep that pipeline moving.Mynimo.com runs job listings and recruitment services through its platform at www.mynimo.com.
