569 passengers stranded as Pagasa raises gale warning
At least 569 passengers were stranded in the different ports of Cebu after the Philippine Coast Guard barred 80 vessels from sailing due to gale warning raised since Monday afternoon.
Commander Agapito Bibat of Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Cebu Station said that as of noon on Tuesday, 29 passenger vessels, 42 rolling cargoes and nine (9) motorbancas were not allowed to sail.
These vessels were bound for Ormoc City in Leyte, Sibulan town and Dumaguete City in Negros Oriental, Bantayan Island and Camotes Island in northern Cebu.
Bibat also advised fishermen not to sail out since the waves could reach as high as 4.5 meters.
