THE MIGHTY RC Cola-Army makes their much awaited return to the Philippine Superliga as they take on Foton in the 2016 Invitational Conference which unfurls today at the Arena in San Juan.

The Lady Troopers kick off their long trek back to the throne at 4 pm while newcomers F2 Logistics and New San Jose Builders lock horns in the 6 pm featured encounter.

Winners of the league’s first three titles, the Lady Troopers are billed as the team to beat for parading the nucleus that made them successful in the past.

Savvy playmaker Tina Salak will be back as well as seasoned spikers Michelle Carolino, Nene Bautista, Mary Jean Balse-Pabayo and Joanne Bunag. Also adding firepower are stars like Jovelyn Gonzaga, Honey Royse Tubino and Rachel Anne Daquis.

Other teams, especially Foton, are also capable of giving them a run for their money as they fashion a rock-solid roster built around superstars of the present.

Despite temporarily losing middle spiker Jaja Santiago, setter Ivy Perez and libero Bia General to the UAAP, the Toplanders remain strong as they made a recruiting coup in the off-season by acquiring former University of Santo Tomas stars Maika Ortiz, Rhea Dimaculangan and Angeli Tabaquero.

Also expected to generate a banner crowd is the collision between F2 Logistics and San Jose Builders.

The Cargo Movers will parade a cast of league veterans like Cha Cruz, Paneng Mercado and Pau Soriano while the Victorias will bank on the young and hungry core of NCAA semifinalist University of Perpetual Help.
