DOLE issues stoppage order on hangar project contractor in wake of accident
A STOPPAGE order was issued against the contractor of the hangar project inside the Mactan Benito Ebuen Air Base in the wake of last Sunday’s accident that killed one worker and injured two others.
Regional Director Exequiel Sarcauga of the Department of Labor and Employment said he directed Asst. Regional Director Joel Gonzales to sign the stoppage order.
Sarcauga said labor inspectors were also sent to the constructionn site on Monday to investigate the accident. The project contractor will also be called to make sure that safety measures are in place before the stoppage order is lifted.
