A FAMILIAR foe came back to haunt the University of the Visayas (UV) as reigning Cesafi MVP Shooster Olago tallied 33 points to lead the Montana Pawnshop past the Green Lancers, 86-67, in the 79th Araw ng Dabaw Commercial Basketball Invitational Tournament on Thursday night at the Almendras Gym Davao City Recreation Center.

Olago, the former reinforcement of the University of San Carlos (USC) who led the Warriors past the Green Lancers in the Cesafi finals last year for their first title in 57 years, led Montana to a fast start as he punished UV’s interior defense for 13 points to give his squad a 20-8 lead and never looked back for the easy victory.

The Green Lancers, who lost for the second game in a row, was led by the 25 points of Leonard Santillan, the one-time Philippine Youth Team member.

In the evening’s other match, La Salle picked up its second win in a row with a 73-64 win over Goldstar.

Former Southwestern University (SWU) import Ben Mbala was once again dominant, scoring 26 points while Jeron Teng added 14.
