Barangay chairpersons will each receive P15,000 for the entire first quarter, while barangay councilpersons will each get P9,000 and barangay secretaries and treasurers each get P3,000.

Rama confirmed this in an announcement on Thursday noon during the first quarterly assembly of the Association of Barangay Councils (ABC) – Cebu City Chapter at Bayfront Hotel.

Since the city is operating on a reenacted budget from last year, the supposed P2,000 across-the-board monthly increase to the barangay officials incentives could not be disbursed yet.

There is still no schedule for the distribution of financial assistance to senior citizens and persons with disabilities.

Rama said he’s still waiting for an opinion from the City Legal Office on this owing to the ongoing campaign period.

But the mayor said he will push for the distribution within April even if they don’t get an exemption from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) on the election ban for projects and services.
