CEBU City Mayor Michael Rama ordered the side doors of City Hall closed starting yesterday with only the main front door open to the public.

Vice Mayor Edgardo Labella said the closure is intended to prevent any untoward incident caused by emotional Team Rama supporters.

“The mayor an I sensed that there were supporters who were affected by news of the suspension order on us. That’s why measures have to be taken,” Labella said.

The vice mayor said the supporters were crying and shouting during a Mass held outside City Hall on Monday.

The entrance to the vice mayor’s office was also closed.

He dismissed speculations that the doors were instructed closed to prevent agencies from serving and implementing a pending suspension order against Mayor Rama, himself and 12 councilors.
