THE fire victims of barangay Capitol Site returned to what remained of their homes early today to salvage items they still found useful or those they could dispose as scrap.

The Department of Social Welfare and Services (DSWS) listed 30 families consisting of 120 persons affected by the late Saturday night fire that damaged 14 structures along Villalon Drive.

Most of the fire victims occupied tents set up near the Capitol Site basketball court while others opted to stay with their relatives, Social Welfare officer Porcia Basmayor said.

Basmayor said City Hall had been giving packed meals to fire victims since Saturday night. Cash and relief assistance will be given as soon as they finish revalidation of the fire affected families.
