Top Cuban pug in Sinulog boxing

THE ONLY foreign boxer seeing action in the Sinulog Boxing at The Mall, Reymi Castellano Aleye of Havana, Cuba, is a boxer to be reckoned with.
In a press statement released to the media, ALA Promotions said the 26-year-old Cuban is a multi-awarded amateur boxing standout who has been honing his skills at the famed ALA Boxing Gym in Talamban, Cebu City for three months.
His reputation as an amateur standout will be tested as he faces a Filipino boxer for the first time in Cebuano ring warrior Rodel Wenceslao (7-6-1, 2 KOs) in the undercard of this Sunday’s ALA Promotions Sinulog Festival fight card at the Gaisano Countrymall carpark in Banilad, Cebu City.
Rolando Servania (5-0, 1KO) of Bacolod City will be fighting Dingdong Quiñones (3-7-1, 1KO) of General Santos City in the same fight card.
Aleye started his boxing career at the age of nine under the influence of his father, who served as his trainer. He recorded 400 amateur fights in Cuba and bagged six national titles.
Aleye has an undefeated record of two wins with one knockout in the super bantamweight division. Aleye decided to train here in the Philippines under the banner of ALA Boxing Gym after he heard of its popularity while training in Cambodia.
