BATCH 1999/Southchoice Inc. is on the threshold of completing a grand slam after it nipped Batch 1995 New Millennium Hardware, 61-53, in Game 1 of their of best-of-three championship series of the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association (Cecaba) 15th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup at the CEC Gym last Saturday night.
Mark Bukiron coughed up 29 points, Mark Saguindel came away with 13 markers as Batch ’99 moved a game away from winning a third straight crown.
Batch ’99 went unbeaten in winning two straight titles and for this year, the team has so far tasted just two defeats in what could be another dominating season.
Donald Anthony Ting led Batch ’95 with 19 markers, Pete Ian Angcay added 11 markers, while Joseph James Yu cashed in 10.
CEC-B-PTT/Roadstar, on the other hand, bagged the third place trophy by shackling CEC-A-ACY Shipping/Koi Herbal, 83-75.
