A showcase of culture and tradition at Pasundayag 2016

THE Cebu City Government through the Cebu City Tourism Commission and Cebu City Tourism Foundation Inc. successfully concluded its annual Pasundayag in cooperation with Ayala Center Cebu and Knapsack Productions.

Now on its 14th year, Pasundayag is a summer workshop for children ages 6 to 16 that trains them the art of cultural, modern, and traditional Cebuano dances. The performers showcased their hardwork through performing cultural dances such as Pad-um, Pasiguin, and Tinikling, along with modern dances like hip-hop.

Different personalities such as the Knapsack Dancers, Abellana National School Dance Troupe, Miss Cebu Charities and other local celebrities who shared their time and passion contributed to the success of this event.

Pasundayag 2016 promotes the idea that economic status is never a hindrance to the children’s potential to shine and continue their big dreams.
The recital proper was divided into four major segments which were the Barrio Fiesta, Martial Arts (Pableo Eskrima Evalution & Phalanx Unified Martial Arts), The Musical and Modern Cebu. Special performances were made by the Brown Academy of Music Students EG Arganza, Anne Tudtud, Von Saw, Jomar Gatchalian, Earl Cagampang, Jovi Manglapus, Leeu Salvador, Sinulog Idol winners Roy Racaza, Danielle May Ozaraga, Dan Escasinas and Genevieve Flores, Knapsack Dancers, Miss Cebu 2016 Raine Baljak, Henrick James Pestano, 2B Boys, Rev. Fr. Jonas Mejares, OSA, and the Cebu City Children Performing Arts.

One of the highlights of the event was the fashion show with the Miss Cebu Charities-ABS-CBN talentPhoebe Kaye Fernandez, Miss Cebu 2016 finalists Shaila Rebortera and Tracy Maureen Perez, and Ms. Cebu 2013 2nd runner-up Maria Gigante. All collections featured were from Amano Resort Wear by Dexter Alazas. The show was ran by Artistic Director Cinbeth Enriquez Orellano and directed by Engr. Patricio “Junjet” Primor.
