INTENSE basketball action in the alumni league of the University of San Carlos (USC) commences this Saturday as the North Alumni Basketball Conference (NABC) President’s Cup opens at the USC North Campus along Mango Avenue, Cebu City.
The tournament is being done in honor of School President Rev. Fr. Dionisio Miranda, SVD and gathers a total of 27 teams across the three different divisions.
Opening the tournament at 6 p.m. will be a Division 2 game between the back-to-back defending champions Dos Mil Uno led by man-mountain AJ San Juan and the 2002 Legendary Lions bannered by former two-time Cesafi MVP, Enrico Llanto.
That will be followed by a Division 3 game pitting the 2007 Waybus led by big man Robert Codilla against last conference’s runners-up, the 2011 Elevens which features crafty guard Dave Guardiario, pivotman Lorenzo Bacaltos and perimeter threat Anthony Romaguerra. The night will be capped by a match in Division 2 featuring the 1997 Ronins and the Sipat 98.
Action goes full blast the following day with nine games slated starting at 8 a.m.
