Camotes village chair nabbed for guns

POLICE arrested a barangay captain in San Francisco town, Camotes Islands for possession of “unlicensed firearms” shortly before noon Sunday. Jesus Mecarsus was arrested after operatives of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group found two firearms in his residence in Barangay San Isidro.

The raiding team headed by Chief Insp. Rene Kyamko was armed with a search warrant issued by Judge Teresita Galanida of Regional Trial Court branch in Mandaue City. The search yielded guns, such as .45 pistol, KG-9 automatic pistol, magazines and ammunition.
