CEBUANO racquet-wielders Jan Godfrey Seno and Norman Joseph Enriquez scored contrasting wins in yesterday’s opening round of the Cebuana Lhuillier Age Group tennis tournament at the red claycourts of the CitiGreen Tennis Resort in Labangon.
The 16-year old Seno crushed fellow Cebuano and University of Cebu Webmasters (UC) prodigy Ralph Daryl Alcordo, 6-0, 6-3 while Enriquez scored a walkover win over Nomir Miko Villeza.
With the victory, Enriquez will ply his weapon today against Francis Hidalgo who blasted Elmar Christian Lagat in a three-set thriller, 6-3, 4-6, 10-8 while Seno will go up against the winner of the Jace Christian Unto-Kevin Paul Borja match which was still being played as of press time yesterday.
Also advancing to the next round without hitting a ball is visiting netter Jose Maria Pague of Zamboanga who won via walkover against Ark Gallo. Up next for Gallo is Russel Cero who battered Dale Estonillo, 6-1, 6-2.
