TWO women were killed while seven others were injured when a multicab collided with a motorcycle along the national road of Agujo, Daanbantayan late Wednesday evening.

Motorcycle driver Jennifer Arreglo Pitogo, 29, and her backrider Chonalyn Rodrigo Conde, 21, both from Sitio Bantigue, Barangay Agujo, were pronounced dead on arrival at the Daanbantayan District Hospital. The other backrider Agloriosa Absular Tanawan, 23, was transferred to a hospital in Cebu City.

Anthony delos Angeles Llever, the driver of the multicab, and five passengers, all from Barangay Tapilon, sustained serious injuries and were brought to Daanbantayan District Hospital.  Llever and two others were later transferred to a hospital in Cebu City.

P03 Orland Condes of the Daanbantayan Police Station said the doctors in the district hospital discovered that Llever and his five passengers were under the influence of liquor.

Police investigation revealed that the multicab, with plate number ABU 8845,  was headed to Tapilon at past 10 p.m. on Wednesday when, upon reaching Barangay Agujo, Llever tried to overtake another vehicle but instead collided with the motorcycle on the opposite lane.
