Mandaue elderly to get cash aid every four months

By: Nestle L. Semilla April 08,2016 - 11:12 AM

SENIOR citizens in Mandaue will no longer have to wait until the middle of the year to get the first tranche of their financial assistance.

This after the Mandaue City Council approved in yesterday’s session the proposed amendment to Section 1 of the ordinance requesting the release of cash assistance in three batches or every April, August and December.

In the original ordinance, the distribution was to have been  released in two batches: one in June as midyear assistance and the other in December as yearend assistance. The city has 15,800 senior citizens who are qualified to receive P6,000 per year.

Councilor Nenita Ceniza-Layese proposed to amend the ordinance after senior citizens requested  the early release of their financial assistance.
