DESPERATE to get his girlfriend back, a man was arrested for trying to blackmail her with photos of their intimacy online.
The 24-year-old suspect Kayze Ryan Minoza was arrested by operatives of the Anti-Cybercrime Group in Central Visayas (ACG-7), Talamban police precinct in Cebu City and the Elite Special Action Force (ESAF) in an entrapment operation in a skywalk of Barangay Talamban at past 2 pm Wednesday.
Chief Insp. Michael Virtudazo said the woman sought their assistance last July 27 after Minoza has already posted their intimate photos on a fake account that he created to “destroy” her.
She said she was forced to keep their relationship afterwards. She said Minoza blackmailed her first by threatening to post their intimate pictures together.
But she decided to end it after her friend told her that some of those photos were already posted on a social media site. “Nagsige gud ko ug hilak. Dili ko makatulog. (I was always crying. I couldn’t sleep),” she said.
Virtudazo said Minoza could not deny the charges after text messages and records of his chat with the woman were retrieved from his mobile phone which was confiscated upon his arrest.
Minoza is temporarily detained at the Talamban police precinct pending the filing of charges against him.
Virtudazo said he may be facing a criminal charge for violating Sec. 4 of the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009.
