THE Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board in Central Visayas (LTFRB-7) will no longer allow the sale and transfer of franchise starting August 13.

“Our new chairman (Martin Delgra) has seen this kind of problem. Those who want to sell or transfer their franchise are given until August 12 to do so. After that we won’t allow it anymore,” LTFRB-7 Assistant Director Reynaldo Elnar told Cebu Daily News.

The regular filing fee to secure a franchise at LTFRB is P520. Elnar said the filing fee for the sale and transfer of franchise is lesser at P300.

The franchise is valid up to five years.

Meanwhile, LTFRB-7 will intensify its efforts to eradicate colorum vehicles in the region in response to President Rodrigo Duterte’s State of the Nation Address (SONA).

The agency will conduct operations twice a week to apprehend colorum vehicles. The penalties are P1 million for colorum bus; P50,000 for colorum jeepney; and P300,000 for colorum taxi.
There is also a memorandum from Chairman Delgra for regional offices to submit colorum reports every 15 days.

But Elnar said that they were planning to submit weekly colorum reports to their central office.
