The Cebu Provincial government yesterday turned over 12 mini-ambulances to different barangays in the province.

The beneficiaries included Barangays Casay, Talaga, Balisong and Bulasa in Argao town; Barangays Polog and Tilhaong in Consolacion town; Barangay Manlapay in Dalaguete; Barangay Jaclupan in Talisay City; Barangay La Paz in Bogo City; Barangay San Miguel in San Remigio town; Barangay Balungag in San Fernando; and Barangay Daanlungsod in Oslob.

Each of the mini-ambulances costs P204,500.

Barangays Bakilid and Guizo in Mandaue City also received two Honda XRM motorcycles each.

During the turnover at the Capitol grounds yesterday morning, Gov. Hilario Davide III told the beneficiary barangay captains to take care of their new vehicles.

“I hope our constituents in the barangays benefit from these. These vehicles are already yours, you will have to maintain it. This year, the province will register the vehicles. Next year, you will be the ones to do that,” he said in a speech during the turnover ceremony.

He also told the barangay captains to drop by the Capitol’s motor pool to get a full tank of gasoline for each of the mini-ambulances.

For her part, Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale said the province has been distributing vehicles, school buildings and other assistance to different local government units in the province. She added that there will be more to come.

“I hope you will take care of these and use them for the purpose intended,” Magpale said in her speech.

The distribution of the mini-ambulances was made upon the request of the barangays as part of the province’s programs on health.

Similar mini-ambulances had been distributed by the Capitol previously.
