COUPLE Julio Taborada and Eliza Arellano filed a complaint against a policeman for allegedly harassing them and failing to pay his house rental for 10 months.
The couple earlier sought the assistance of the Police Regional Office (PRO-7) Complaints and Referral Monitoring Center (CRMC) for the administrative case they wanted to file against PO1 Jerome Lendio.
At past noon yesterday, the couple, together with their one-year-and-six-month-old baby girl, were assisted by SPO1 Eduardo Seno of the CRMC in filing the complaint.
In a media interview, Taborada said he was concerned of their safety after the incident on August 1 wherein Lendio pointed a gun at him.
Taborada said the police and his wife accused them of robbing their house of jewelry, a laptop and some cash. The policeman’s wife also punched Arellano on the face. The blow also left a bruise on the baby’s left cheek.
Taborada said Lendio began renting their house in Barangay Lahug, Cebu City in October last year. By November, he stopped paying the monthly rental of P1,500.
The policeman will be asked to answer the allegations against him in a pre-charge investigation. If there is enough basis to proceed with a full-scale investigation, a summary hearing will follow.
Lendio is currently assigned at the Cebu City Police Office.
