Three fire incidents hit different barangays in Cebu City as of Friday afternoon.
Calamba
The first fire incident reported was in Quijano Compound, Vicente Rama in Barangay Calamba at 10 a.m.
SFO2 Alberto Jagdon, Jr. of Labangon Fire Station said that Miraflor Cantay, 36, burned silk cotton near her house.
“Napalid ang sunog na duldol padulong sa ilahang kisami,” Jagdon said in a phone interview.
Cantay’s neighbors immediately responded and were able to put off the fire. Jagdon said the fire was totally put out at 10:06 a.m.
Bulacao
The second fire incident was reported at Sitio Cabancalan in Barangay Bulacao.
The alarm was received at 1:15 p.m. and was controlled at 1:25 p.m. said FO2 Dionisio Regasa, fire investigator from Cebu City Fire Station.
The fire allegedly started at the second floor of the house owned by Lolita Calma, 37.
Regasa said that the fire was caused by electrical circuit.
“They don’t have a permanent outlet and were only using extension wires,” Regasa added.
Only Calma’s house was affected during the fire. The cost of damage was estimated at P20,000.
Basak-Pardo
Another fire incident broke out at a residential area in Bamboo Village in Barangay Basak-Pardo.
Regasa said the alarm was received at 2:35 p.m.
The fire allegedly started at the house of Fe Erida,50, allegedly caused by electrical overloading as the first floor of Erida’s two-storey house was used as an internet cafe with 10 units of computers.
Erida’s house was totally burned while four other houses were partially burned. Estimated cost of damage was P50,000.
Fire was put under control at 2:45 p.m. and was totally put out at 3:52 p.m.
