AFTER he was named by President Rodrigo Duterte in an early Sunday morning announcement as among the politicians who were drug protectors, former Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama said during a gathering late Friday afternoon at the Rama compound, that he had already presented himself to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency to clear his name.
Rama, however, refused to elaborate about his visit to the PDEA but instead said that he would take a vacation soon.
He also thanked his supporters and allies for their support during these trials.
Organizers of yesterday’s gathering told Cebu Daily News that there were at least a thousand supporters and allies of former Mayor Rama at the Rama compound in Barangay Basak, whose yard was packed with people.
“At least mao nay gihinganlan og one gathering, one message, one talk. That’s it,” Rama told the crowd of supporters.
He also promised that he and his team would continue to move forward despite the trials.
He said he was still happy that he could still feel the love and support of the people despite the controversies thrown at him.
“Wounded man ta. I’m happy the family is one. The party is one and the barangay is one. That’s why padayon Team Rama,” he said.
He also encouraged his supporters to continue to pray for him in this trying times.
He also said that he would be going on a vacation to relax but he clarified that he was not escaping from the controversy he was in.
He also said that he also planned to visit retired Cebu Archbishop Ricardo Cardinal Vidal soon.
Those who attended the gathering included acting Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella, city councilors Joy Pesquera, Joey Daluz III, Pastor Alcover, Raymond Garcia, Eduardo Rama Jr. and Tisa barangay captain Phillip Zafra.
