ISABELO Montejo, the current regional director of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources in Central Visayas (DENR-7), has been appointed as the Environment Department’s undersecretary for field operations.
Montejo, 63, who has served as the DENR-7 director for four years, will be tasked to supervise operations of the regional offices of the department in Luzon and the Visayas.
Emma E. Melana will take over the post vacated by Montejo. Melana will however only be the acting DENR-7 director.
Melana was the acting assistant director for Management Services of DENR-7 before she assumed as acting DENR-7 director.
Environment Secretary Regina Paz Lopez signed Montejo’s appointment last August 3.
Montejo, who had been with the DENR for 33 years, said in a statement that he would be able to deliver all targets in the field operations in Luzon and Visayas.
“We will make a difference and I need all of you to support me so that we can al deliver our tasks on time with effectivity and efficiency,” said Montejo as he called for support of his leadership in his new post.
He also outlined the priority programs he would implement which included enhancing the National Greening Program, Laguna Lake Development Program, and the enhanced biodiversity conversation program.
