RAFAEL Piscos edged Kenyan Douglas Mwiti to win the 12-kilometer title of the R399: Live Your Dreams yesterday at the Sumilon Road of the Cebu Business Park.
Piscos finished the 12k race with a time of 40 minutes and 18 seconds while Mwiti came in second with a time of 41:09. Ariel Saballa finished third, clocking 41:47.
Meanwhile, Ruffa Sorongon collected her 10th title in a long-distance footrace yesterday as she topped the 12k distaff side with a time of 47:31.
Cresabel Cadion placed second with a time of 50:23 while Cherry Andrin settled for third, finishing in 58:14.
In the 6k race, Prince Joey Lee emerged as the fastest runner after crossing the finish line in 20:02. Mereeis Ramirez topped the 6k female division with a time of 25:39.
In the 3k race, Kim Harold Guiao and Nicole Del Rosario topped their respective divisions by clocking in 07:44 and 09:43, respectively.
In the 12k “Hey Bigats” category, Marphet Vertudez emerged victorious in the men’s division after finishing in 1:08.30.
Evangeline Balansuela clocked 1:06.36 to rule the distaff side.
In the 6k distance of the category for plus-sized runners, John Velez finished first with a time of 34:23 while Mary Cheryl Wuttke joined topped the female side, clocking 34:08.
The race pays tribute to fallen IronMan 70.3 participant, Dr. Ramon Igaña Jr., who succumbed to acute pulmonary embolism in 2012.
